Housing Predictor Reports U.S. Real Estate Turn Around
More than half of the nation's housing markets are appreciating or have at least stabilized, according to a special report by Housing Predictor, an information-driven Web site that forecasts housing markets in all 50 U.S. states.  Some 56 percent of the nation's markets are appreciating or have stabilized.

Tough New Rules Limit Refinancing Options

Freddie Mac has announced that starting in September it will substantially change the way it purchases sub prime adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs). From this point forward, loans with little down and tiny payments up front are going to be much tougher to get. Freddie Mac will not buy subprime loans unless the borrower is qualified to pay for the loan at its fully-indexed and fully-amortizing rate.

North Carolina existing home sales dipped by 6 percent for February 2007 when compared to the same time period a year ago. However, when compared to last month, unit sales increased by 7 percent.

Brevard Ranked Hot Retirement Haven
A look at the cities with the fastest-growing senior populations shows which locales are becoming increasingly popular retirement spots. Bizjournals.com identified 100 cities nationwide where residents over 65 have increased rapidly in the last five years.  Brevard, N.C. came in at No. 8 in the top ten retirement locations.

The Home of the Future
"The Home of the Future" study, conducted by the National Association of Home Builders' Economics Group, provides a detailed view of what buyers can expect to find in an "average" home and an "upscale" home in 2015. The pace of change in new homes will be much faster over the next 10 years, and buyers can expect that all homes will be significantly "greener" and more resource efficient than today.
